Richard William Davies, the 2nd son of a steel erector and a housewife, was born, bred and educated in the Rhondda Valley, attending Gelli Primary School and The Rhondda County Grammar School for Boys.
He lived there for 26 years before spending 5 years in South Africa and 9 years in Berkshire and Hampshire before returning to South Wales where he has resided for the last 28 years.
Richard has a Bachelors Degree in Economics, 75% of a Masters Degree in Business Administration and is currently studying for a Masters degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics.
After founding and running four companies he retired from business in 2012 whilst continuing to offer his services as a business consultant until the end of 2016.
He contracted throat cancer in May 2017 and was given the ‘all clear’ in July 2019.
A father of two children, Matthew, aged 32, a Royal Marine Commando specialising in Electronic Warfare and Rhiannon, who sadly passed away in tragic circumstances in 2008, aged just 18.
He lives in Brynsadler, Pontyclun with his wife Gaynor who is Group Director of Organisational Development at a large Housing Association.
